LUME Grinder User Manual
SECTION 1 - BEFORE YOU START
Read and follow all instructions carefully before using your LUME grinder. It will help prevent injuries and damage to the machine and ensure that you have the best possible experience.
1.1 AVOID CONTACT WITH MOVING PARTS
ALWAYS keep fingers, hands, hair and clothing away from all moving parts. ALWAYS keep all utensils away from the grinder burr during operation as utensils may damage the burr or the grinding jar. NEVER touch the burr with your fingers when the grinder is in operation. DO NOT rock or adjust the burr during operation. These precautions will prevent personal injury and/or damage to the grinder.
1.2 NEVER USE THE GRINDER IF IT APPEARS DAMAGED
If the grinder malfunctions, reach out to your sales agent or support@hellolume.com. If it is dropped or damaged in any way, return the grinder to a service agent immediately for examination, repair, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or possible replacement.
1.3 NEVER OPERATE GRINDER IN LIQUID
To protect against the risk of electrical shock do not put the motor top in water or other liquid. Do not use the grinder outdoors where it is subject to precipitation. Doing so will also void the warranty.
1.4 NEVER PUT ANY ITEMS OTHER THAN COFFEE BEANS INTO GRINDING JAR
Utensils, rocks, and glass are dangerous if placed in jar. Damage caused by such foreign objects will void the warranty. Keep hands and utensils out of jar while grinding to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the grinder. Utensils may only be used when the grinder is not running.
1.5 NEVER OPERATE THE GRINDER USING PARTS NOT SOLD BY LUME DESIGN
The use of any unauthorized attachments or parts may cause electric shock, and/or injury and will void the warranty.
1.6 NEVER ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE MOTOR UNIT
Never remove the grinder motor cover. The grinder motor does not contain self-adjustable or serviceable parts. A qualified service agent must make all service adjustments. Removing the cover or attempting to service the grinder will void the warranty.

SECTION 4: HOW TO USE LUME GRINDER
4.1 GET STARTED
Step 1: Hold the grinding jar using one hand and twist the motor top clockwise to unlock the grinder.
Step 2: Remove the motor top away from the grinding jar, add up to 50 gram of beans to the jar.
Step 3: Place the motor top back on top of the grinding jar, twist counterclockwise to lock the grinder.
Step 4: PRESS AND HOLD the grinding start button for 2 seconds to start grinding. Press again to stop.
4.2 HOW TO ADJUST GROUND SIZE
Use the adjusting knob to adjust ground size. Clockwise for fine, counterclockwise for coarse grounds. (TIP: Set it at tightest to start, then turn the knob back 45 degree each time for incremental adjustments.) The gap between the burr and the outer ring indicates how fine the ground would be. Each types of bean requires different setting for optimum brewing. In general, we recommend 0mm - 0.5mm for fine, 0.5mm -1.2mm for medium, and 1.2mm - 2mm for coarse grounds.
